POKHARA: Tribhuvan Army Club has entered the final of the 23rd Aha Rara Gold Cup, defeating ‘A’ Division league champions Church Boys United 2-1 in extra time at the Pokhara Stadium on Thursday. The match went into extra time as Church Boys grabbed a late equalizer in the second half.
With this, Tribhuvan Army Club has entered the final of the Pokhara Club for the fifth time in 15 appearances. However, the army side has not been able to win the tournament yet.
Dinesh Henjan gave Tribhuvan Army the lead in the 61st minute of the match after the first half ended goalless. He scored from a free-kick from 30 yards. This is his third goal in the tournament.
Church Boys equalized in the 85th minute when Samir Tamang beat two army defenders and scored from the six-yard box.
Ras Bahadur Magar scored the winner for the army in the 99th minute when he headed home Basant Jimba’s cross.
Tribhuvan Army Club will now meet the five-time champion Three Star Club in the final to be played on Saturday.
