KATHMANDU: The stock market underwent a correction after a seven-day winning run, losing 32.77 points to close the last trading day of the week at 2,109.10 points on Thursday.
Except for two trading groups – Manufacturing & Processing and Trading, all sub-indices ended the day in red. The Development Bank sub-index logged the highest loss of 3.23%, followed by Finance and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices, which were down by 3.1% and 2.99%, respectively.
Nevertheless, the share prices of 10 listed companies hit the positive circuit of 10% on the day. Share prices of 191 companies declined, while 53 advanced, and three remained unchanged on Thursday. Shivam Cements Limited logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 306.86 million traded. Sonapur Oil & Minerals Ltd and Himalayan Distillery Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 254.76 million and Rs 200.62 million, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 6.27 billion were traded on the bourse on Thursday through 111,980 transactions.
