KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to award the national cricket team, which recently qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with a cash prize of Rs 5 million.
A board meeting of CAN held on Monday took the decision.
Nepal defeated UAE in the semifinal of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier to reach the final and secure its spot in the semifinal. It, however, lost to Oman in the final of the Asia Qualifier in the super over.
The meeting also decided to provide Rs 50,000 each to members of the U-19 team, which lifted the title of U-19 ACC Premier Cup held in Malaysia and qualified for the U-19 Asia Cup.
According to CAN, the meeting also decided to send the national women’s team to participate in a T20I series in Hong Kong.
