KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) went up by 43.27 points to close at 1,907.89 points on Wednesday.

The benchmark index had snapped a two-day losing run to post a gain of 13.18 points on Tuesday. The market opened for trading on Wednesday at 1,864.28 points and immediately went on the green trajectory. The benchmark index maintained the momentum throughout the session to eventually close the day 2.32% higher.

Share prices of a total of 223 companies went up on the day, while 13 declined and three remained unchanged. All trading groups ended the day in green, reflecting the positive sentiment of investors on the bourse. The non-life sub-index logged the highest gain of 2.87%, followed by Development Bank and Hydropower sub-indices, which were up by 2.74% and 2.53%, respectively.

Sanima GIC Insurance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with Rs 44.60 million worth of shares traded. Next on the list were Kumari Bank Ltd Promoter Shares and IME Life Insurance Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 31.39 million and Rs 24.27 million, respectively.

Shares worth Rs 934.89 million were traded on the bourse on Wednesday. Total market capitalization reached Rs 2.93 trillion.
