KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a 14-member squad under the leadership of Dev Khanal for the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup to be held in Malaysia from October 12-24.
A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament. Nepal is in Group ‘A’ which also includes Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Similarly, UAE, Oman, Qatar and China are in Group ‘B’, while Singapore, Kuwait, Thailand and the Maldives are in Group ‘C’. Likewise, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia are in Group ‘D’.
Nepal will play its first match against Iran on October 12, while it will take on Bahrain on October 12 and Saudi Arabia on October 19.
Group winners will progress to the semifinals. The semifinals will be played on October 22, while the final and third-place decider has been scheduled for October 24.
