KATHMANDU: Officiating Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka said that the demands raised by relief quota and early childhood development (ECD) teachers in community schools will be addressed.
Khadka said this during his briefing on the agreement signed with the Confederation of Nepalese Teachers (CNT) at the central working committee meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) on Monday.
Relief quota and ECD teachers have continued their protest even though CNT withdrew all forms of protest after signing an agreement with the government.
Khadka said the government will address demands raised by relief quota and ECD teachers by making amendments to regulations and work procedures and taking needful decisions.
CNT took to the streets after the government registered a Bill to amend and consolidate laws related to the education sector in parliament. Teachers have returned to schools after CNT and the government reached an agreement.
Khadka said the agreement reached with CNT will be addressed through the parliamentary process. “The government is committed to implementing the agreement reached with teachers,” he added.
