Dahal has acknowledged his mistake, Oli briefs party leaders

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli has informed party leaders that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has acknowledged his mistake.

Speaking at UML’s parliamentary committee meeting on Monday, Oli stated that since Dahal has admitted his mistake, there is no longer a need to obstruct the House.

In a book launch event held in Kathmandu last week, Dahal had said that a businessperson of Indian origin had tirelessly worked, making multiple visits to New Delhi, to ensure his appointment as Prime Minister. Opposition parties expressed objection to his statement, leading to the obstruction of parliamentary sessions ever since.

Earlier on Monday, Oli had discussions with Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. In the meeting, the three leaders reached an understanding to resume parliamentary proceedings.

Oli agreed to reconvene the House session after Dahal committed to provide clarification regarding his statement in parliament.
