Three dead, 12 injured in Palpa jeep accident

LUMBINI: A jeep accident in Satyabati of Palpa claimed three lives and left 12 others injured on Sunday evening.

The jeep, en route from Saljhandi of Rupandehi to Panena of Argakhanchi, veered off the road and fell approximately 70 meters. The jeep was reportedly carrying more passengers than its designated capacity at the time of the accident.

Rem Bahadur Rana, Chairperson of Ward-8 of Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality, confirmed that three individuals lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Police teams from Area Police Offices in Bhujung, Baldenggadhi, and Saljhandi, along with local residents, rescued the victims and retrieved the bodies.

The bodies of the deceased have been brought to Butwal for post-mortem examinations. The police are still working to establish the identities of the deceased individuals.
