KATHMANDU: OnCampus Program 2023 on ‘Redesigning Fashion’ organized by the Hult Prize KCM has concluded.
According to a statement issued by Hult Prize KCM, three teams have been selected for a position in the final. They include Team Triangle which won the competition, and Team Phoenix Team Shanti which finished first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
Nyima Nyima Choezom Sherpa, Samriddhi Shah, and Ngima Sangmo Rokaya of Team Shanti had the vision to create interior-designed items of furniture from the blocks of fibers extracted from waste clothes. Similarly, Prisha Kochar, Sumedha Rijal, Kriti Chaudhary and Muskaan Goyal of Team Phoenix contemplated reusing waste clothes and tires to create a shoe made out of waste materials, the statement added.
Likewise, Selina Maharjan, Frijya Prasai, and Sanjeevani Bati of the winning team, Team Triangle, stepped up with a plan to create upcycled yarn made out of various waste fibers that further incorporates the whole ecosystem replenishing the fashion market.
Campus director of Hult Prize KCM 2023, Subi Kaphle, thanked the participants for their efforts to contribute to this year’s theme with their ideas.
