KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has decided to take a vote of confidence only after the presidential election.

The government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, told a press meet on Tuesday that the Prime Minister will take a floor test as some political parties, which had supported Dahal, have now withdrawn their support.

The presidential election has been scheduled for March 9.

Sharma also said that the cabinet will be reshuffled only after the presidential election.

Meanwhile, the cabinet has decided to publish the remaining names of people who lost their lives during the Maoist insurgency and the second people’s movement in the Nepal Gazette. Likewise, the cabinet also decided to form a negotiation team for a concessional loan and grants of $3.84 million from the World Bank for the implementation of the Nepal Quality Health Service System Program. Similarly, the government has formed a compensation fixation committee for the acquisition of land needed for the 400 kV Karnali Corridor transmission line.

The cabinet has also decided to create a backup of all government information and information technology systems in an Integrated Data Center and start full-fledged operations of the Integrated Data Center in Kathmandu and the Disaster Recovery Center in Hetauda. They will ensure round-the-clock supervision by cybersecurity experts.
