KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) leader Devendra Poudel Thursday said his party is always in favor of forming a national consensus government.
Talking to media persons after the party’s standing committee meeting, Poudel said although Maoist Center was clear that UML will get the position of President as per an agreement reached on December 25, he said the priority is always on forging national consensus.
He also said all the parties represented in the parliament were working for national consensus. “We are saying that UML, Nepali Congress, and Maoist Center should move ahead by forging consensus. We are working as per the agreement reached with UML,” he said, adding: “But we cannot bypass the NC which gave a confidence vote to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.”
