KATHMANDU: Locals have roughed up a pilot who landed his chopper on a football ground in Syangja when a match was underway.

A Robinson helicopter of Prabhu Air landed on a football ground in Waling Municipality of Syangja at 2 pm on Thursday when a match of Waling Gold Cup was underway.

Though no untoward incident happened, it was a sheer breach of flying protocol. But locals took matters into their own hands and roughed up the pilot who has been identified as Ramesh Dangol. After disembarking a passenger, the chopper flew back.

Meanwhile, District Administration Office, Syangja, has written a letter to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to investigate the matter.
