Karki elected UML’s parliamentary party leader in Province 1

ITAHARI: CPN-UML has unanimously elected Hikmat Kumar Karki as its parliamentary party leader in Province 1 Assembly.

A meeting of the party’s Province 1 Committee held on Sunday took the decision to this extent.

Though Til Kumar Meyangbo had earlier expressed his interest to become the party’s parliamentary party leader in Province 1, he has agreed to become Karki’s proposer. Similarly, Rebati Raman Bhandari is the seconder.

Karki earlier served as the internal affairs and law minister in the government of Sherdhan Rai in Province 1. He is also a standing committee member of CPN-UML.
