88 movies from 40 countries to be screened at NIFF

KATHMANDU: More than 80 movies from 40 countries will be showcased at the 7th edition of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF).

Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Nepal Film and Culture Academy (NFCA) Chairperson KP Pathak said that 88 films will be exhibited during the 7th NIFF to be organized in Kathmandu on March 14-18.

Films screened at renowned film festivals like Cannes, Locarno, and Berlin Film Festival, among others, will also be showcased in the NIFF, according to the organizers.

While 13 narrative feature films will be screened in World Panorama, which is an international competition, Nepal Panorama will feature four narrative feature films from Nepal. Likewise, 13 short and feature-length documentaries will be screed in the Docs@NIFF category which is also an international competition. The National Docs, Shorts International and Shorts National will feature seven, 32 and 19 films, respectively.
