KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that his party would now launch protest programs against the government’s activities.
Addressing a party program in Jumla on Monday, Dahal said they have only cautioned the government through statements so far. “We have let the government complete its honeymoon period. Now, we will launch protest programs against wrongful activities of the government,” he added.
Dahal also said the activities of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has confirmed that his government protects corrupt individuals. “I said it from the beginning that this government was formed to protect and encourage corruption. As we approach three months since its formation, you can all see it,” Dahal said.
The former prime minister also said Oli’s party has accepted land donation from a businessman who is facing court cases in the Lalita Niwas land scam. “This proves the government’s role as a protector of corruption,” he added.
Dahal also claimed that his government was abruptly removed by an “unnatural and artificial” alliance just as it was taking initiatives against corruption, promoting good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity.
