Voting to elect NC’s new leadership postponed until Friday morning

KATHMANDU: Voting to elect a new Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been postponed to 7 a.m. on Friday.

According to the party’s Central Election Committee, voting has been postponed as preparations for the election could not be completed in time.

The committee had initially scheduled the voting for 7 a.m. on Thursday. It postponed the ofting to 10 a.m. and later to 1 p.m.

A total of 7,255 delegates are eligible to vote to elect a 297-member Central Working Committee.

The Central Working Committee has commitee has designated seven polling centers at three locations. Delegates from Bagmati Province will vote at the City Hall, Kathmandu, while those from Koshi, Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpashchim will cast their votes at Khullamanch. Similarly, delegates from Gandaki and Lumbini will vote at the polling center set up at the Nepal Academy premises.
