US diplomat calls on CoAS Sharma

KATHMANDU: Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of South And Central Asian Affairs of the US Government, Afreen Akhter, paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the Nepal Army, issues of bilateral interests and mutual cooperation were discussed in the meeting held at the Nepal Army headquarters.

“The army is hopeful that such visits further enhance friendly relations between the two countries,” the statement added.

Akhter arrived in Nepal on Monday on an official visit. She is the third US official to visit Nepal in two weeks.
