KATHMANDU: Lumbini Buddhist University and Beijing Language and Culture University of China have signed an agreement for cooperation and collaboration.
Lumbini Buddhist University’s Vice-chancellor Dr Subarna Lal Bajrachary and Chairperson of Beijing Language and Culture University, Tawang Feng, signed the agreement in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday.
As per the agreement, the two universities will collaborate on cultural exchange, language education and research activities. Additionally, a Nepal Institute will be established in Beijing, and a China Institute will be set up in Lumbini.
During Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to China from December 2-5, an understanding was reached between the two countries regarding volunteer Chinese language teaching in Nepal.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chancellor of the Lumbini Buddhist University, expressed happiness over the strengthening of academic and educational ties between Nepal and China.
