KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Barsha Man Pun has hinted at a possible unification with the Madhav Nepal-led CPN (Unified Socialist).

Speaking at a party program in Diktel of Khotang on Thursday, Pun said that since the Maoist Center shares ideological similarities with the Unified Socialist, there is a possibility of the two parties uniting in the future. “We have many strategic similarities with Unified Socialist. Sooner or later, there is a possibility of us coming together,” he added.

Pun claimed that the process of communist unification centered around Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal had already begun and added that parties that split from the Maoist Center would be united sooner or later.

He added that the Dahal-led government took steps against corruption, state exploitation and intermediaries while promoting good governance when it was in power for 18 months.
