UML leading vote count in both Ilam, Bajhang

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML is leading the count in the by-polls in both the Ilam-1 seat of the House of Representatives and the Bajhang-1(A) seat of the Sudurpashchim Province Assembly.

According to the latest counting results at 8:50 pm, Suhang Nembang of UML has received 3,783 votes in Ilam-1, 1,001 votes more than his close contestant Dambar Bahadur Khadka of the Nepali Congress.

Independent candidate Dakendra Thegim is third with 784 votes.

Ballot boxes of Wards 1 to 6 of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality of Ilam have been counted so far.

In Bajhang-1(A), Daman Bahadur Bhandari of UML has built a lead of 608 votes over his close contestant Abhishek Bahadur Singh of the Nepali Congress. While Bhandari has received 3,270 votes, Singh has polled 2,758 votes. Janak Bahadur Budha of CPN (Maoist Center) is in the third position with 1,891 votes.
