UML also withdraws support to Madhesh govt UML ministers submitting their resignations to Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav.

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has quit the Madhesh Province Government, a few hours after its ruling alliance partner CPN (Maoist Center) parted ways with the government led by the Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (JSP Nepal).

Four ministers and two ministers of state from the UML tendered their resignations to Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav on Sunday.

Rajkumar Elhia, Shatrughan Singh, Pramod Kumar Jaisawal, and Saroj Kumar Yadav were ministers from the UML in the Madhesh Province Government, while Keshav Raya and Sharada Thapa were ministers of state.

With the withdrawal of support by two coalition partners, the JSP Nepal-led Madhesh Province Government has fallen into a minority. Chief Minister Yadav will now have to undergo a floor test within 30 days.

The UML and the Maoist Center are preparing to form a new coalition in the province with the support of the Janamat Party.
