POKHARA: Police have arrested two more individuals in connection with the murder of Srijana Paudel KC in Pokhara last week.

Chief of the District Police Office, Kaski, SP Nabin Karki, said the arrests were made based on the statement of the main accused and a detailed investigation into the incident.

According to Karki, the two were arrested on the charge of assisting the main accused and an accomplice in escaping.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Basanta KC (24), originally from Kushma and currently residing at Zero Kilometer in Pokhara-5, and Navaraj Paudel Kshetri (27), originally from Parbat and currently living at Lamachaur in Pokhara-16.

Police said the two are being investigated and prosecuted as accessories to the crime.

Srijana was murdered using a sharp weapon at around 7:15 pm on April 8 while she was heading to her home after closing her shop at Sabhagriha Chowk.

Police had earlier arrested the main accused and an accomplice within two days of the incident. The main accused has been identified as Shishir KC (27) of Parbat and currently residing in Pokhara-6. He is reportedly a nephew of the deceased. KC was arrested from Manakamana Tol in Butwal-12.

Similarly, the accomplice, Kushal Pariyar (32) of Pokhara-17, was arrested in Pokhara. He was driving the scooter on which Shishir arrived at the crime scene with a sharp weapon, according to police.

Preliminary investigation shows family disputes and issues related to property division were the main motives behind the murder.
