Two children dead, three other injured in Kalikot explosion

KATHMANDU: Two children died and three others were injured in an explosion in Kalikot district on Saturday.

Jharana Thapa (4) and Saraswati Rana (4) died when an explosive device went off in Ranabada of Tilagufa Municipality-10 of Kalikot. Similarly, Darshana Rana (3), Kamal Thapa (7) and Muskan Thapa (5) were injured in the incident.

DSP Jayashwar Rimal said the explosive device went off when the children were playing in a millet field near their house.

Chief District Officer of Kalikot Ram Hari Sharma said the injured children have been airlifted to Surkhet for treatment.
