Tunisia holds Denmark to a goalless draw

KATHMANDU: Denmark and Tunisia played a goalless draw in their opening World Cup match of Group D at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday.

Though Denmark enjoyed a lion’s share of possession and had more shots on target, it failed to score.

Tunisia scored from its only shot on the target in the 23rd minute but was ruled offside by the referee.

Christian Eriksen saw his powerful left-foot shot saved by Tunisian keeper Aymen Dahment in the 69th minute. Andreas Cornelius’s header hit the post a few minutes later.

Tunisia frustrated Denmark by defending resolutely and earned a deserved point much to the joy of their fans.
