KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reiterated that there will be no change in the current power equation.

Speaking at the parliamentary party meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) on Friday, Dahal urged lawmakers of his party not to have any doubts or suspicions regarding the political meetings of the leaders of the parties affiliated with the ruling coalition.

Responding to queries raised by the lawmakers regarding the meeting between CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal and Sher Bahadur Deuba, the president of the main opposition Nepali Congress, Dahal said nothing will happen to the ruling coalition.

“I also met Deuba a few days ago. Political meetings of party leaders won’t make any difference in the power equation,” Dahal said in the meeting, according to Maoist Center Chief Whip Hit Raj Pandey.

A few days ago, Deuba invited leaders of different political parties, including Unified Socialist Chairperson Nepal, to his residence to discuss relevant political issues, including the formation of the government in Madhesh Province.

Deuba is insisting that Unified Socialist join a new alliance to form a government in Madhesh Province. UML and Maoist Center have agreed to support Janamat Party to form a government in Madhesh Province.
