“Textbooks supplied to 59 districts”

KATHMANDU: The government has supplied textbooks for the new academic session to 59 districts so far.

According to Janak Education Materials Centre Ltd (JEMCL), textbooks have been supplied to 59 districts as of Sunday. Anil Kumar Jha, manager of JEMCL, said during monitoring by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers that preparations were underway to provide textbooks to all students before the start of the new academic session.

Jha mentioned that 15 million units of textbooks have been printed and distributed so far. “We began distributing textbooks on April 7. All districts will receive textbooks by April 28,” he added.

He added that many schools in these districts have already received textbooks. “Textbooks are being transported to some schools from their respective district headquarters. All schools in the 59 districts will receive textbooks within three days,” he claimed.

According to Jha, they have prioritized hilly and mountainous districts for the distribution of textbooks due to the geographical difficulties in transporting textbooks to schools there.
