KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has said that all hearings scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed.
The Supreme Court’s operations have been completely disrupted after a fire set during the Gen Z protest on Tuesday caused significant damage to the apex court’s building.
Issuing a notice on Wednesday morning, the Supreme Court’s Chief Registrar said that all hearings scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed. Similarly, hearings of previously registered cases have been suspended until further notice.
The blaze damaged courtrooms, case-related documents, servers and other critical materials, according to officials of the apex court.
“Due to the fire on Tuesday, which completely destroyed the Supreme Court, all hearings scheduled for Wednesday are postponed, and hearings of ongoing cases will remain suspended until further notice,” the notice said.
