ITAHARI: The Sunsari-2 Election Office has dismissed a complaint filed against Lal Bikram Thapa, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for the House of Representatives elections, citing insufficient evidence.
Hearing the complaint on Thursday, the Chief Election Officer of Sunsari-2, Rajendra Lamsal, said the office found no basis to substantiate the claims.
With the complaint rejected, the office has published the final list of candidates.
The complaint had been filed at the Election Officer’s Office in Inaruwa by an independent candidate, Satya Narayan Pandit. Pandit alleged in his complaint that Thapa had failed to pay more than Rs 7.4 million owed to Janata Secondary School in Itahari-9, and that an audit report had also shown outstanding dues.
