Sudurpashchim’s first basic hospital opens in Bardagoria

DHANGADHI: A 15-bed hospital built in Bardagoria Rural Municipality in Kailali of Sudurpashchim Province started operation on Friday.

Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah inaugurated the hospital amid a ceremony.

This is the first hospital to be built in Sudurpashchim Province as part of the government program to build 15-bed basic hospitals in all 753 local units across the country.

The rural municipality signed a contract with Lumbini-Thodung-Shiva-Khimti JV on July 4, 2021, quoting Rs 138.3 million. As per the contract, the hospital had to be built by July 4. The contractor has managed to build and hand over the project four months ahead of the deadline.

The previous government led by KP Sharma Oli had announced a plan to bring 15-bed basic hospitals across the country. Foundation stones for the hospitals were laid simultaneously across the country on November 30, 2020.

Out of 88 local units in the province, 52 are in different states of building basic hospitals.
