DHANGADHI: The Sudurpaschim Province Government has awarded the prestigious Bhim Dutta Farmers Award to five outstanding farmers in the province.
At a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives, and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture on Wednesday, Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah gave away cash prizes and certificates to the farmers.
Asare Ram Badayak from Kanchanpur has been declared the best farmer of the province and received a cash prize of Rs 150,000. He has garnered recognition for introducing new agricultural technologies and achieving remarkable success in farming despite limited investments. “He is known for cultivation of mixed crops like sugarcane, potato and paddy,” Yagya Raj Joshi, chief of the directorate, said.
Additionally, Prince Raj Awasthi and Prasad Dutta Awasthi from Dadeldhura, along with Jayanti Bhat from Baitadi, were recognized for their excellence in commercial vegetable farming. Each of them was awarded a cash prize of Rs 75,000.
Likewise, Pahal Man Deuba from Kailali earned accolades for his commendable efforts in commercial chicken and pig farming. He was also presented with a cash prize of Rs 75,000.
The Bhim Dutta Farmers Award seeks to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of farmers who have displayed innovation, dedication, and excellence in agriculture, inspiring others in the farming community.
