KATHMANDU: The Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP) staged a protest against Prime Minister Balen Shah in the House of Representatives on Sunday by displaying placards inside Parliament.

Lawmakers, including the party’s parliamentary leader Harka Sampang, wore placards on their chests while protesting. The party has been insisting that the Prime Minister cannot avoid question-answer sessions in parliament.

Earlier, other opposition parties had also demanded that Prime Minister Shah respond to queries raised during discussions on the government’s policies and programs. However, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle responded to queries on behalf of PM Shah.

The federal parliament usually holds a question-and-answer session with the prime minister every month. However, such a session has not been included in the parliamentary calendar for the months of Jestha (mid-May to mid-June) and Asar (mid-June to mid-July).
