KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha met Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Chengdu on Wednesday.
According to Shrestha, the two leaders discussed different dimensions of bilateral relations. “In addition to discussions on trade, investment, tourism, connectivity, and other issues between the two countries, we held talks on increasing Chinese cooperation to Nepal. A positive discussion was also held on the issue of opening more trade points and facilitating the movement of people at the Nepal-China border points,” Shrestha wrote in a social media post. “An agreement has also been reached to move forward together to face natural calamities and disasters, and expedite projects being implemented in Nepal with Chinese assistance.”
Shrestha left for China on a five-day visit, leading a seven-member delegation, on Tuesday evening.
