Seven dead in Bara bus accident

KATHMANDU: Seven people, including six Indian nationals, died when a passenger bus met with an accident in Bara district early Thursday morning.

The bus, heading to Mahottari from Kathmandu, fell into a rivulet from the East-West Highway near Churiyamai in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-22 of Bara district at around 1 am, according to police.

Police have taken the driver and conductor of the bus under control for investigation.

All seven – four female and three male – passengers died while undergoing treatment at Makwanpur District Hospital, Hetauda.

Seventeen others were injured in the accident.
