KATHMANDU: A seven-day Mahayagya began in the Pashupatinath Temple area of Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The initiative, led by Pandit Khagendra Pokharel, the chairperson of the Maharudra Foundation, aims to establish a Gurukul (traditional school) where Sanatanis, Hindus, Buddhists and Kirants can coexist.
Maharudra Women’s Group, Shiv Sena Nepal and Youth for Nation are supporting Maharudra Foundation in organizing the event, according to Pokharel.
Talking to Himal Press, Pokharel stressed the need for social harmony, religious tolerance and national unity, and urged everyone to come together for this cause. “At a time when the distance between religions is growing, it is essential to strengthen religious unity, respect for all faiths, and maintain social harmony and national unity,” he added.
