School principal shot dead in Bara

KATHMANDU: An individual lost his life due to gunshot wounds in Bara on Monday.

According to police, an unidentified gang opened fire on Rupesh Swarnakar, the principal of Ekata Boarding School in Kalaiya-6, Bara, at around 1 pm. “Swarnakar sustained gunshot wounds to his head and neck,” said Nepal Police Spokesperson Kuber Kadayat.

Swarnakar was rushed to Bayodha Hospital in Birgunj for treatment. He, however, succumbed to his injuries at around 2 pm, Kadayat added.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the assailants, said Kadayat.
