KATHMANDU: Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang has urged the Ministry of Health and Environment to take action against Dr Pralhad Karki the Vice Chancellor of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
In a letter addressed to the Minister for Health and Environment, Sampang said that Vice Chancellor Dr Karki had failed to convene the meeting of the Executive Committee of BPKIHs despite the ministry’s directive. “Since Dr. Karki has failed to call the executive committee meeting, which has created confusion over the demands of teachers, staff, and doctors, and to find a resolution to the ongoing crisis, I request you to take necessary action against him as per the existing law,” Sampang stated in the letter.
Earlier, Sampang had padlocked Dr Karki’s chamber alleging that he had opted for leave instead of calling the executive committee meeting to address the issues. The padlock, however, was removed following the Biratnagar High Court’s order.
