KATHMANDU: Bibek Mandal, who set himself on fire on Friday, died from his injuries on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
He was airlifted to Kathmandu on Friday and admitted to the Kathmandu Cleft and Burn Center in Kirtipur, where he had been receiving treatment.
Dr. Kiran Nakarmi of the Kathmandu Cleft and Burn Center confirmed Mandal’s death.
Mandal is the third person to die after attempting self-immolation in the past six days. Earlier, Ganesh Nepali of Mugu and Ashwini Raut of Kathmandu also succumbed to burn injuries while undergoing treatment after setting themselves on fire.
