KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leaders returned home from China on Thursday cutting short their visit.
The RSP leaders embarked on a 10-day trip to China last Saturday at the invitation of the Communist Party of China. However, RSP called them back after news of police arresting RSP President Rabi Laichhane for an investigation into the cooperative savings misuse case began circulating in media outlets.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday, RSP Vice President Dr. Swornim Wagle said the party would resist any attempts to arrest their president.
According to Wagle, the RSP delegation visited Shanghai and met with Chinese leaders.
The delegation comprised seven RSP lawmakers and seven leaders.
