RPP will reorganize and rise again: Lingden

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairperson Rajendra Lingden has said that the party will correct its weaknesses and rise again by reorganizing itself.

“Let no one dream that the RPP will be finished,” he wrote in a social media post on Sunday. “This party has been built with the blood, sweat, and youth of countless people like me. We may have lost an election, but losing an election does not end a political party’s future.”

Lingden also said the party will not step back from its core positions, including support for a constitutional monarchy, Sanatan religion with a Hindu state identity, and opposition to what it sees as a complex and burdensome provincial structure from both economic and administrative perspectives.

He was responding to growing criticism of the party leadership following the party’s poor performance in the House of Representatives elections held on March 5.

RPP failed to win even a single first-past-the-post seat in the election. It, however, managed to sin four proportional representation (PR) seats.
