Rohit smashes second career ton as Nepal posts 233 against UAE

KATHMANDU: Captain Rohit Paudel struck his second career ODI century at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Thursday.

In Nepal’s second match of the ICC World Cricket League 2 tri-series against hosts UAE, Paudel scored 109 off 130 balls. He clubbed five fours and two sixes in a fighting knock with support losing from the other end.

Interestingly, this is only the second century by a Nepali batter at the ICC Academy Ground. The first was scored by then-captain Paras Khadka, who also made 115 against the UAE on January 28, 2019.

Paudel’s maiden ODI century came against Papua New Guinea at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on March 25, 2022.

Meanwhile, Nepal was all out for 233 runs againt UAE.

Aasif Sheikh scored 35 runs, while Aarif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee chipped in with 27 and 23 runs, respectively, while Karan KC chipped in with 13 off eight balls.

Zahid Ali claimed four wickets for the UAE, while Junaid Siddique picked up three, and Muhammad Rohid and Haider had a wicket each to their names.
