KATHMANDU: United States Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Diplomacy Sarah B Rogers paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal on Monday.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides held discussions on further strengthening the friendly relations between Nepal and the United States, which span more than seven decades.
The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in the areas of investment, trade, culture and tourism.
Rogers arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday for an official visit. She delivered a keynote address in the 2026 Ascent Summit held on Sunday.
She is the third senior official to visit Nepal since the formation of a new government after the March 5 polls. Earlier, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Paul Kapur arrived in Kathmandu on April 10. Similarly, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, arrived in Kathmandu on April 30.
