KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP) has elected its chairperson Rabi Lamichhane as the party’s parliamentary party leader.

A meeting of the party’s lawmakers held in Kathmandu on Monday unanimously elected Lamichhane, according to party spokesperson Mukukl Dhakal.

The party, however, is yet to select the deputy leader, chief whip and whip. RSP is holding its central committee meeting later on Monday to fill these posts.

It is said that the meeting will also decide whether to join the next government.

The newly-formed RSP has 20 seats in the parliament – 7 under the first past the post (FPTP) system and 13 under the proportional representation (PR) system.
