Protestors padlock Itahari sub-metropolis office

ITAHARI: Locals protesting the naming of Koshi Province has padlocked the Itahari Sub-Metepolitan City Office.

A struggle committee formed by the locals padlocked the office after holding a protest program in the city on Wednesday. They have been demanding that the province be renamed on the basis of identity.

The committee organized a protest program in the province capital Biartnagar on Tuesday. As many as 22 people, including security personnel, were injured when protesters clashed with police.

The committee has intensified its protest after one of the protesters, Pdam Limbu, died during a clash with police earlier this week.
