Prohibitory orders in two local units of Sunsari on Monday as well

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Sunsari, has imposed prohibitory orders in Dewanganj Rural Municipality and Harinagar Rural Municipality on Monday as well.

According to a notice issued by the local administration of Sunsari on Monday, the restriction will be in effect from 10 am to 7 pm in accordance with Section 6 (3) of the Local Administration Act, 1971, considering the district’s security situation.

“Although a review of recent developments shows that the security situation is gradually improving, the decision to enforce a prohibitory order was taken to maintain law and order,” Sunsari CDO Ishwari Prasad Aryal said in the notice.

The situation in the district became tense after Om Prakash Mehta was killed in police firing in Kaptangunj on July 26. Violence soon expanded in several districts of Koshi and Madhesh Province.

As many as three people died in the protest while more than a dozen were injured.
