KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has been airlifted to India for medical treatment.
A chartered flight of Shree Airlines carrying President Poudel and his medical team left Kathmandu on Wednesday morning. President Poduel will be admitted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Two doctors and a nurse from TU Teaching Hospital have accompanied the President.
President Poudel was initially admitted to TU Teaching Hospital on April 1 after complaining of chest and stomach pains. He was discharged after five days but returned for a follow-up on Monday. Doctors recommended that he be taken to India for further treatment on Tuesday evening stating that the infection had not subsided.
