Policy direction of govt set by NC, Sitaula claims

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has claimed that although the government is led by CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, the policy leadership is with the Nepali Congress.

“We are currently in a coalition government to two major parties – NC and CPN-UML. While KP Sharma Oli of UML is leading the government, we proudly say that the NC Congress is providing policy leadership. The broader policy direction of the government is set by the NC,” Sitaula said, addressing a program in Kathmandu on Tuesday on the occasion of National Reconciliation Day and the conclusion of the party’s 100-day special campaign.

Sitaula added that the NC aims to unite all political forces and build national reconciliation for Nepal’s sovereignty, economic prosperity, and advancement.

He also said that the party remains committed to uplifting marginalized communities, addressing the issues of Dalits and women, and leading Nepal towards economic progress.
