KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Tuesday conducted raids at the residence of CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi who has been on the run since an arrest warrant was issued for him.
Rayamajhi was in Argakhanchi district when the arrest warrant was issued. He has been out of contact ever since. The police issued the arrest warrant based on statements provided by other individuals who were arrested as part of an investigation into the Bhutanese refugee scam.
Rayamajhi’s son, Sandeep, has already been arrested in connection with the case.
So far, the police have arrested eight individuals for investigation. Among those arrested are Dr. Indrajit Rai, who served as an adviser to former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, and Tek Narayan Pandey, who previously held the position of Home Secretary.
