KATHMANDU: CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, who is currently on a visit to China, has proposed establishing direct flight connectivity between Pokhara China’s Chongqing city.
Pokharel, who is in China on a 12-day visit at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC), put forth the proposal in the meeting between the politburo member of the CPC and the Nepali delegation.
The meeting was held in Chongqing – a city bearing 3,000 years of history and an important political, economic, and strategic center in western China.
During the meeting, Pokharel recalled the China visit of late CPN-UML Chairperson Manmohan Adhikari in the capacity of Prime Minister of Nepal and said that the visit further bolstered the Nepal-China relations. He also said important trade agreements and treaties were inked between Nepal and China during his party Chairperson and then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s China visit.
