Pokhara man kills wife, self: Police

POKHARA: A domestic dispute has ended in the tragic deaths of a married couple in Pokhara.

Rishiram Baral (57), a resident of Ayurved Path in Birauta of Pokhara Metropolitan City-17, Kaski, allegedly killed his second wife, Devi Parajuli, before taking his own life, according to preliminary police investigations.

“It appears that the incident resulted from a household dispute.  Two knives and an empty bottle of Metacid insecticide have been recovered from the scene,” DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kaski, said.

Baral added that a post-mortem examination will tell whether Rishiram consumed the insecticide.

The wife, who was found injured, was rushed to Gandaki Medical College on Monday evening but was declared dead on arrival. Baral passed away on Tuesday morning.
