PM Dahal to respond to questions of lawmakers on Monday

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to respond to questions raised by members of the House of Representatives, including those from the opposition parties, on Monday.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) informed the Federal Parliament Secretariat in writing on Friday that Prime Minister Dahal couldn’t attend the House meeting to respond to questions raised by lawmakers owing to his busy schedule. “The Prime Minister will attend the House meeting on Monday and respond to questions raised by the lawmakers,” the letter sent by the OPMCM to the Federal Parliament Secretariat states.

Earlier in the day, Speaker Devraj Ghimire issued a ruling to the government to respond to questions raised by the lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday.

The opposition parties, especially the main opposition CPN-UML, have been demanding that the Prime Minister answer why action is not being taken against three tainted ministers – Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati, Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet, and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
